This review will require some audience participation. I’d like you to watch this trailer, then think to yourself, ‘what would be the plot of this show?’ Got it?
Okay. So, if you’re like me or Burnt Orange, you’re thinking, this is Netflix’s equivalent of capitalizing on their IP. Just like Space Jam Resurrected or Chippendales Re-animated, it’s Netflix reminding us of the franchises they own (Queen’s Gambit, Queer Eye, etc.). But it’s Rowan Atkinson as Mr. Bean (essentially) stumbling through each property.
And to be honest, I would have been very okay with that. It’s a sort of tongue-in-cheek parody of the big franchise movies, right?
But that is NOT the premise. It has NO TIE-INS to ANY Netflix properties. AT ALL. It’s just a stand-alone story about Rowan Atkinson trying to kill a bee.

Now, I didn’t actually ‘watch’ it per se. Once I realized what I’d been duped into watching, I literally skimmed through to the end, just to make sure no Netflix IP shows up. And it didn’t. It’s entirely disconnected from the Netflix Cinematic Universe. As much as I’m tired of franchise fever, I was looking forward to the satire.
So yeah… fuck that.
