The Magic Flute is 2023’s Most Surprising Film

So I was browsing the Harkins website to see what new releases there were. They had Scream VI (kill me now) and 65 (PLEASE kill me now) and what else… Oh, Champions, that looks bland but probably fine. And what else…

Oh? What’s this? The Magic Flute. Never heard of it. Hmmm… Looks like a family adventure, maybe a Harry Potter knockoff, but probably a- WAIT WHAT THE FUCK WAIT IS THIS FOR REAL??

Yes, ladies and gentlemen. This film is ACTUALLY directed by Roland Emmerich. Look it up. My jaw has never hit the floor faster.

In case you don’t know who Roland Emmerich is… He’s the dude who made Independence Day.

And Independence Day 2.

And 2012.

And Moonfall.

And The Day After Tomorrow.

And Stonewall.

Wait, the fuck? He did Stonewall? I haven’t seen it, but that seems out of character for- OHMAIGOD HE’S GAY WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?!

I guess there’s a lot I don’t know about the man. Like apparently he’s making a family-friendly adaptation of The Magic Flute. And according to the critics, it’s not terrible, not spectacular, just a solid meh.

The end.

Oh and apparently it has Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton from Game of Thrones).
